Why Choose Senior Care Resources?

When a loved one needs long-term care, you may hear that the nursing home will handle the Medicaid application "for free." Before you accept that offer, here's what you should know.

Experience matters.

Senior Care Resources has been guiding families through Medical Assistance applications since 2007. We've seen nearly every situation imaginable, and that depth of experience makes a real difference in outcomes.

There's more to it than paperwork.

Many facilities simply collect your documents and submit them to the county assistance office. But a successful application often requires much more—identifying potential problems before they derail your case, understanding complex eligibility rules, and knowing how to present your situation properly.

We find problems early—and opportunities you might miss.

Our team reviews every application with a careful eye, spotting issues while there's still time to address them. Just as importantly, we often identify legitimate ways to protect additional assets, including your home in many cases. These are opportunities that a simple paperwork submission will never uncover.

We know when you need an attorney.

Some situations require legal expertise. Because we work closely with elder law attorneys throughout the region, we recognize when a referral could benefit your family—and we can point you in the right direction.

"Free" isn't always free.

Here's the reality: you're required to spend down assets to qualify for Medicaid, and part of that spend-down goes to the facility. The nursing home gets paid either way. The question is whether you'll have experienced guidance through the process—or whether you'll go it alone. When you work with Senior Care Resources, you're getting the most experienced Medicaid application team in the area, and in a very real sense, it's not costing you anything more than you'd already be spending.

You don't have to do this alone. Let us help.

Who We Are

Senior Care Resources LLC (SCR) was founded in 2007 by elder law attorney Carl Zacharia, the founder of Zacharia Brown & Bratkovich. It began providing a service to Allegheny County's four (4) Nursing Homes in southwestern Pennsylvania. The services provided were to oversee and manage the Medicaid Application process. Mr. Zacharia has been practicing elder law in Pennsylvania and Florida since 1995 and is one of the best known elder law attorneys in town.

The goal was to make certain that every resident who was eligible was able to properly apply for and receive governmental Medicaid benefits in order to pay for their care at one of these nursing homes. Since then, Senior Care Resources has successfully handled over 7,000 Medicaid applications. Our case managers have many years of experience handling long-term care Medicaid applications and even some with years of working in a nursing home.

Why You Need Senior Care Resources...

1

Every family's situations differ. You can't rely on what your neighbor, friend or the cashier at the local store told you they went through. There are ways to safeguard assets in certain cases.

2

If you are not aware of the Medicaid rules & regulations, you may make severe and unrepairable decisions. While the County Assistance Caseworkers are well trained, mistakes are made.

3

The staff is knowledgeable and can identify problems. The majority of our current staff has over 20 years experience with Medicaid applications.

4

The staff member helping you at the nursing home may not be aware of all the legal and acceptable rules to qualify for Medicaid.

5

Senior Care Resources help clients organize the financial documents and prepare the application to ensure the best possibility of being accepted into the Medicaid program.

6

Senior Care Resources alleviates the family's time it takes to organize, complete, copy, research, make calls and WAIT.
